Magnetic whiteboards · OEM & wholesale
Magnetic whiteboard manufacturing steel-core boards that hold magnets and dry erase markers
A magnetic whiteboard combines a dry erase writing surface with a steel core so classroom magnets stick — lesson cards, student work and instructional magnets stay on the board. SlateForge builds magnetic whiteboards for school suppliers, teaching-aid distributors, stationery wholesalers and education brands: painted steel or porcelain steel surfaces, aluminum frames, classroom sizes, and your logo and packaging. For the broader dry erase category (including non-magnetic melamine), see dry erase boards. For mobile writing surfaces, see whiteboard easels.
- Steel-core magnetic whiteboards for classroom magnet use
- Painted steel and porcelain steel writing surfaces
- Classroom sizes with aluminum frames and marker trays
- Magnetic pull verified on samples to your magnet spec — not published as a rating
What makes a magnetic whiteboard
Under the dry erase coating sits a steel sheet thick enough to hold classroom magnets. Melamine-on-particleboard boards are usually not magnetic; if your listing or bid says “magnetic,” specify a steel-core SKU. We do not publish pull-force figures — you name the magnet type and holding need, and samples are verified to that. See magnetic vs non-magnetic in the specs guide.
Magnetic whiteboard formats
- Wall-mounted magnetic whiteboards — the standard classroom and office format with aluminum frame and optional marker tray.
- Freestanding magnetic whiteboards — steel-core boards on a base for rooms without wall mounts.
- Combination magnetic boards — magnetic dry erase plus cork or fabric panel in one frame.
- Magnetic grid or lined boards — printed grid, music stave or handwriting lines under or on the surface, per artwork.
Surface and frame options
- Painted steel — dry erase coating over steel; common for mid-tier magnetic lines.
- Porcelain / ceramic steel — harder surface for heavy institutional use when buyers specify it.
- Frames — aluminum (silver, black, custom anodizing), slim profiles, marker trays and corner caps.
Logo and packaging
Frame badges, printed cartons, care cards and accessory packs (magnets, markers, erasers) can carry your brand. Packaging uses corner protectors and cartons sized for school freight or marketplace ship.
Compliance — buyer-specified, not claimed
No magnetic strength ratings, school certifications or material listings are claimed on this site. Third-party testing for buyer-named standards is available on request and quoted per SKU.

No school certifications, fire ratings, child-safety test data or product ratings claimed. We describe what each product is made of and how it can be customized. We do not display certification or listing marks, publish magnetic strength figures, load ratings, flammability results, factory capacity or customer cases on this site. Where your channel or school bid needs testing or documentation, it is buyer-specified and available on request — arranged per SKU at a third-party lab you choose or approve. Labeling and claims are the brand owner’s responsibility.
Frequently asked questions
Will any magnet stick to your magnetic whiteboard?
Performance depends on steel gauge and the magnet. You specify the magnet type your program uses; we verify hold on pre-production samples. We do not publish pull-force ratings.
Difference between magnetic whiteboard and dry erase board?
A magnetic whiteboard is a dry erase board with a steel core. Non-magnetic melamine boards are covered on the dry erase board hub so each page keeps one primary keyword.
How strong is the magnetic surface on your whiteboards?
We do not publish magnetic pull-force figures or “magnetic grade” ratings on this site. Magnetic performance depends on the steel sheet gauge, coating and magnet type your program uses. You specify the magnet type and pull you need for classroom use; we build pre-production samples to that spec and you verify them — in-house or through third-party testing arranged on request. Any magnetic claim on your packaging or listing must come from that verification and is the brand owner’s claim. See the magnetic vs non-magnetic section of our specs guide.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
Both are quoted per SKU. MOQ depends mainly on the tooling (an existing mold or frame vs. a new design), material and finish, colors, logo method, packaging and any buyer-specified testing; lead time depends on customization, sampling rounds, testing and season. Send your quantities and we confirm both on the quotation — see also the packaging & MOQ section of our specs guide.
Are your classroom products certified for schools?
We do not claim any school certification, fire rating, child-safety standard, listing or test result on this site — no ASTM, CPSIA, EN 71, CAL 117, UL, CE, RoHS, REACH or similar marks. Compliance belongs to a specific SKU, a specific market and a specific sales channel: tell us the destination market, the channel (school district bid, teaching-aid distributor, stationery wholesale, e-commerce) and the standard, test or document your buyer asks for, and the quotation sets out how it will be handled — typically third-party testing at a lab you choose or approve, on production samples, available on request and quoted per SKU. See the compliance section of our specs guide or ask on the inquiry form.
